How long is a treatment?

Generally one hour, although a first treatment may take one and a half hours as we need to discuss and gain a confidential general medical background from you. Massage treatments may be one hour or one and a half hours duration whichever you prefer.

Do I have to remove my clothes?

During a full body massage you would keep your pants on and be covered by a towel for warmth and modesty. Reflexology treatments necessitate the removal of shoes and socks, and for Reiki you remain fully clothed.

How will I feel directly after a treatment?

This will depend on you, the individual, your complaint, and which treatment you have received. Many individuals feel relaxed, calm, and at peace. Some feel energized and elated and at peace. Following a deep tissue massage there may be some soreness in the previously knotted muscles that have been released, but this occurs rarely. We recommend that you drink plenty of water for the rest of the day and relax for an hour or so following the treatment to ensure that the therapy integrates within your body. This ensures the best results from the therapy.

How many treatments will I need?

This depends on how long you have had the condition/disease. The longer the condition has been experienced the more treatments will be required. A rough guideline is outlined as follows:

  • Sore, knotty muscles may require two, three or four consecutive weeks of massage, with possibly two more treatments at two weekly intervals. After which it may be wise to have monthly or six weekly treatments to maintain the healthy muscles.
  • Reflexology may require between two and six treatments, as a personal treatment plan is arranged for each clients condition.
  • Reiki may vary from one to four treatments and sometimes more.

Do I need to be sick to have a treatment?

No, any of these treatments used regularly will contribute to an improvement in your general health, well being and vitality.
